The University of Michigan School of Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant to welcome and prepare patients, set up materials for dentists, and assist chairside. The role includes handling radiography, charting, and records, under supervision.

Hybrid opportunities and clinic-wide infection control responsibilities are included. The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to HIPAA/OSHA standards, and collaboration with dental students and faculty.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years dental experience or equivalent education.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Radiography certification required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and aseptic techniques.
• Reasonable knowledge of dental clinic practices.
• CDA certification or equivalent experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Receives and prepares patients for dental treatment.
• Prepares work surfaces and materials for use by the dentist.
• Keeps records of appointments, examinations, treatments, and supplies.
• Maintain cubicle stock of dental supplies.
• Enter patient data into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Assist with infection control and quality assurance in clinic.
• Perform dental radiography work and assist chairside.
• Take impressions and digital scans as needed.
• Train dental students on procedures as directed.
