Job summary

CommuniCare is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide a range of clinical procedures and staff support across dental operations. You will assist in chair-side procedures, radiography, and patient administration.

The role includes sterilization, inventory management, front desk tasks, and teamwork with dental providers and hygienists. Requires RDA registration or eligibility within the first year, BLS, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Must have active RDA registration or eligible for license within first year.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance for dental procedures including operative, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, surgical and other procedures.
• Prepare, sterilize, and set up dental equipment and operatories per guidelines.
• Monitor inventory and assist with supply orders for dental materials and equipment.
• Administer dental radiographs per providers' orders; ensure radiation safety per protocols (RDA duty).
• Contribute to performance improvement and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Deliver excellent patient service via phone, fax, or in person to assist with health care needs.
• Assist front desk with appointment scheduling, outreach/recall, and confirmations.
• Support hygienists by preparing patients and treatment rooms.
• Maintain daily maintenance logbooks and equipment upkeep.
• Perform routine cleaning of operatories and proper waste handling.
• Manage dental lab slips and ensure timely lab case receipt.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
