Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; state certification/registration as a Dental Assistant preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program with current Iowa registration or certification and CPR/BLS.
• Registered Dental Assistant with relevant clinical experience.
• Minimum of one year Dental Assistant experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS accreditation required.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist and dental hygienist in chair-side procedures.
• Maintain flow of dental schedule and patient relations.
• Take and record blood pressure; document medical and dental history.
• Expose, develop, and mount x-rays; perform lab procedures.
• Prepare, set up, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Provide postoperative instructions and manage infection control.
