Job summary

CommuniCare is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide chair-side support and a full range of dental operational services. This role includes assisting in dental procedures, radiographs, instrument preparation, sterilization, inventory management and front-office support.

The ideal candidate will hold a current RDA registration, be eligible for licensure within the first year, and maintain BLS certification. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or better in General Business.
• Current, valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) registration from the TSBDE.
• Must be eligible to apply for and receive a current RDA license within the first year of employment as a Dental Assistant.
• Must complete the Continuing Education requirement by TSBDE on renewal of license/Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provides chair side assistance to dental providers for operative, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, surgical and other procedures.
• Prepares, sterilizes, organizes, and sets-up dental equipment and operatories per protocols.
• Monitors inventory and assists in dental supply orders.
• Administers dental radiographs and supports radiation safety.
• Participates in performance improvement activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provides excellent customer service via phone, fax or in person.
• Assists with front office duties including scheduling and recall outreach.
• Supports hygienists by preparing patients and treatment rooms.
• Maintains daily logs on maintenance procedures.
• Performs general cleaning of operatories and sanitation duties.
• Maintains dental laboratory slips and ensures timely lab case receipt.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
