Anthem Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics in Henderson, NV is seeking a caring Dental Assistant to join our pediatric team. You will assist during pediatric procedures, prepare rooms, and help with patient positioning and radiographs.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Dental Assistant or applicable state credentials.
• Experience with infection control and sterilization.
• Experience taking dental radiographs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures and examinations.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care.
• Assist with patient positioning, suctioning, and maintaining a clean and organized treatment area.
• Take and process dental X-rays in accordance with applicable requirements and office protocols.
• Help provide a positive and reassuring experience for children before, during, and after treatment.
• Support patients who may experience dental anxiety by communicating with patience and kindness.
• Assist with procedures involving pediatric sedation as directed by the clinical team and within the scope of your training and responsibilities.
• Maintain proper infection control, sterilization, and safety procedures.
• Review and maintain accurate patient information and clinical documentation.
• Work closely with dentists, hygienists, orthodontic team members, and other staff to ensure an efficient patient experience.
• Provide age-appropriate encouragement and education to help children develop positive oral health habits.

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred; pediatric dental experience is a plus.
• Dental Assistant certification or applicable state credentials preferred.
• Experience taking dental radiographs preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional when working with children and families.
