Job summary

Vitana Pediatric & Orthodontic Partners in Massachusetts seeks a Pediatric Dental Assistant to support clinicians, prep treatment rooms, assist during pediatric procedures, and guide young patients to a positive experience.

The ideal candidate has pediatric dental assisting experience, state certification, X-ray certification if required, and CPR/BLS certification preferred. Familiarity with dental software is a plus in a fast-paced team setting.

Qualifications

• Prior dental assisting experience preferred (pediatric experience a plus).
• Dental Assistant certification as required by state.
• X-ray certification as applicable by state.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of pediatric dental procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care.
• Take and record dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with state regulations.
• Ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed.
• Comfort and guide pediatric patients, creating a positive experience.
• Provide chairside assistance including suctioning, instrument transfer, and charting.
• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Support office flow by preparing rooms and turning over operatories efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management and stocking of clinical supplies.
• Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies and procedures.
