Job summary

Centurion is seeking a Dental Assistant to join the team at Taylorville Correctional Center in Taylorville, IL. The role involves chairside duties under Dentist/Hygienist supervision in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities include instrument sterilization, operatory setup, radiographic imaging, and light administrative tasks. Schedule is Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm, with required licensure, CPR, and TB screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical program in dental assisting or 6 months experience required.
• Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required.
• Expanded duty certificate preferred; if not present, must obtain within first year.
• Certification and/or experience performing dental radiographs preferred.
• Must show/obtain PPD TB screening documentation.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• CPR certification required.

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at Centralia Correctional Center in Centralia, Illinois.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Essential duties include the following:

• Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
• Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
• Operating radiographic equipment
• Administrative tasks as needed

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
• Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
• Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
