Job summary

Modern Dental Smiles in Wellington, FL is hiring a Dental Assistant to join our doctor-led practice. The role involves chairside assisting, patient comfort, and front-line support in a busy dental office.

Responsibilities include sterilization, x-rays, impressions, and maintaining operatories. Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program and Florida radiography certification are preferred; strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program / Dental Assistant School is required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Familiarity with dental software such as Dentrix is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, escort to operatories, answer general dental questions, and ensure patient comfort.
• Chairside assisting across general restorative care and routine exams.
• Sterilize equipment and prepare operatories according to health and safety regulations.
• Take digital dental X-rays and assist with basic impressions or tray setups.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment rooms and stock supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Comfort: Greet patients warmly, walk them to operatories, answer general dental questions, and make sure they feel comfortable before and during procedures.
• Chairside Assisting: Assist doctors through standard 4-handed dentistry across general restorative care and routine exams.
• Sterilization & Room Setup: Prepare operatories, set up dental instruments, and sterilize equipment according to health and safety regulations.
• X-rays & Impressions: Take clear digital dental X-rays and assist with basic impressions or tray setups.
• Operatory Maintenance: Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, and well-stocked with supplies.

What We Are Looking For

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program / Dental Assistant School (required).
• Valid Florida Dental Radiography certification (or EFDA).
• Friendly, cheerful personality with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail, self-motivation, and a desire to learn and take instruction well.
• Experience with Dentrix (or general dental software) is a plus, but not required.
