Where Smiles Grow Pediatric Dentistry in Albany is seeking a dental assistant to join a child-friendly team. You will support dentists, prepare rooms, and handle instruments while learning sterilization protocols and dental software like Dentrix.

No prior experience is required as training will be provided; a high school diploma is required, and the role emphasizes patient education and efficient clinic flow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize dental treatment rooms and instruments prior to patient appointments.
• Assist dentists during various dental procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Perform sterilization and disinfection of dental tools and equipment following strict infection control protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care with empathy and clear communication.
• Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies and materials, ensuring availability for daily operations.
• Adhere to body motion and ergonomics best practices to maintain personal health and safety during clinical tasks.
