Job summary

Where Smiles Grow Pediatric Dentistry, located in the Albany area, is growing and looking for a Dental Assistant to join a welcoming, child-friendly team. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists, sterilize instruments, and help educate families about oral care.

We offer Monday–Friday 7:30AM–5:15PM, paid training, and a comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance, 401K, PTO, holidays).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Training provided for the right person.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize dental treatment rooms and instruments prior to patient appointments.
• Assist dentists during various dental procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Perform sterilization and disinfection of dental tools and equipment following strict infection control protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care with empathy and clear communication.
• Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies and materials, ensuring availability for daily operations.
• Adhere to body motion and ergonomics best practices to maintain personal health and safety during clinical tasks.

• Primary Location: Latham
  • Ability to commute to Delmar and Schodack offices on an as needed basis preferred
