Job summary

Hero Practice Services is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist and hygienist in delivering high-quality, compassionate dental care to underserved children in the community.

The role requires radiology training, CPR certification, and strong interpersonal skills to educate patients and families. The position is in Topeka, KS with generous pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth within the practice and region.

Qualifications

• Radiology education meeting state requirements.
• Current BLS/CPR certification is required or preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to actively listen to patients and parents.
• Experience in a dental office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document clear, concise patient records.
• Obtain dental radiographs (periapicals, bitewings, panoramic) as requested by the dentist.
• Write accurate notes ensuring chart notes match services.
• Build friendly relationships with patients and parents and educate them on oral health.
• Organize and sterilize dental instruments and workstations per OSHA standards.
• Keep the practice clean and presentable, including restrooms and lobby areas.
• Support the mission of providing high-quality dental, vision, and orthodontic services.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist and hygienist in providing high quality and compassionate care to all patients.

Pay range: $15.00-$20.00/hr

Job Responsibilities

• Collect and document clear, concise, and accurate patient records
• Obtain quality dental radiographs (periapicals, bitewings, panoramic) as requested by the dentist
• Write accurate and consistent notes, ensuring chart notes match services completed
• Create a friendly relationship with patients and parents as well as educating them on good oral health
• Organize and sterilizing dental instruments and workstations per OSHA standards
• Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
• Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children

Job Qualifications

• Radiology education and training that meets state requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents
• Ability to multi-task and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner
• Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW) a plus
• Previous experience working in a dental office preferred
• Current BLS CPR certification
