Job description

Dental Care of Prince Frederick is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

This position has a pay range of $17.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience.

Must be able to work the following schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:30AM-5:30PM
• Wednesday and Friday 7:30AM-2:30PM

More about the role

1. Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
2. Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care
3. Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
4. Provide superior chairside assistance (i.e., four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
5. Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
6. Prepare treatment room following safety protocols and OSHA & CDC recommendations
7. Manage supply and inventory levels, and place and expedite orders as needed
8. Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
• Dental assistant and/or x-ray certification as required by state law
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to protect PHI, maintain data safeguards, and complete HIPAA training

Preferred Experience

• 1+ years in a dental setting
• Experience with Dentrix or other dental software
• Dental assisting school certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations
• Prolonged sitting and standing
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds
• Availability for virtual or in-person training sessions
• TB test required prior to employment in most states
