Responsibilities

• Provides highly specialized dental assisting support to WVU School of Dentistry providers.
• Assists during patient examinations and treatments, greets patients, and prepares them for exams.
• Independently applies rubber dam isolation and transfers instruments during procedures.
• Maintains a clean and sterile environment, prepares materials, and manages dental supplies.
• Performs imaging procedures, manages equipment sanitation, and records treatment information electronically.
• Participates in training students and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provides administrative support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a dental assisting program or one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate in Dental Assisting.

Physical and Work Environment

• Prolonged sitting, dexterity, mobility, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Exposure to hazardous materials, radiation, and bodily fluids.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of patient care protocols, ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changes.
• Ability to manage high-stress situations and adhere to policies and regulations.
