Job Location: PIC Montrose - Montrose, CO

Salary Range: $19.53 - $23.85 Hourly

Description

Job Summary: Assists Dentist with dental procedures, including preparation of the examination room, equipment, patient, radiographic setup and development, and chairside assistance.

Essential Functions:

1. Assist chairside and contribute to creating and explaining dental treatment plans.
2. Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize dental operatory and laboratory areas; handle waste disposal; open and close clinic independently; maintain sterilization area.
3. Perform limited hygiene services such as child prophylaxis and topical fluoride application.
4. Oversee care and maintenance of dental equipment and supplies; assist with inventory control.
5. Chart requirements including X-ray, crown & bridge, Caries Risk Assessment, root canal, and denture procedures.
6. Schedule dental appointments.
7. Assist other dental providers as needed.
8. Perform coronal polish for adults and children; manage night guard delivery; take alginate impressions; pour models; create custom trays and wax rims.
9. Maintain accurate dental records in paper or electronic format.
10. Participate in creating and explaining treatment plans.
11. Ensure correct completion of X-ray procedures and maintain X-ray certification.
12. Participate in laboratory processes such as dentures, crowns, partials; manage lab shipments and documentation; advise on home care.
13. Fabricate temporary crowns.
14. Lead daily dental flow and manage two procedure rooms.
15. Participate in training new employees.
16. Order supplies and track shipments.
17. Assist the QI department with HRSA requirements.
18. Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and BLS policies at MarillacHealth.
19. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least one year of demonstrable chairside dental experience.

Preferred Education/Experience:

• Certification from an accredited college/program.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
