Salary Range: $19.53 - $23.85 Hourly
Description
Job Summary: Assists the Dentist with dental procedures, including preparation of the examination room and equipment, patient prep, radiographic setup and development, and chairside assistance.
Essential Functions:
- Assist chairside and participate in creating and explaining dental treatment plans.
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize dental operatory and lab areas. Properly dispose of contaminated waste. Open and close the clinic independently. Keep sterilization area updated.
- Perform limited hygiene services such as child prophys and topical fluoride application.
- Oversee maintenance of dental equipment and supplies. Assist with inventory control.
- Chart requirements; x-ray, crown & bridge, Caries Risk Assessment, root canal, and denture procedures.
- Schedule dental appointments.
- Assist other Dental providers as needed.
- Perform coronal polish for adults and children, Night Guard delivery, alginate impressions, model pouring, create custom trays and wax rims.
- Maintain dental records in paper or electronic form.
- Create and explain dental treatment plans.
- Ensure accurate X-ray procedures and certification.
- Participate in laboratory processes: dentures, crowns, partials, shipments, scripts, and home care advice.
- Fabricate temporary crowns.
- Lead daily dental flow and manage two procedure rooms.
- Participate in training new employees.
- Order supplies, track shipments.
- Assist in HRSA requirements with the QI department.
- Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and BLS policies at MarillacHealth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR/EDR systems.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- One year of demonstrable chairside dental experience.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Certification from an accredited college/program.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
Additional Eligibility: Must be current or willing to be vaccinated for TDAP, MMR, Varicella, HEP B, Flu, TB, and COVID.
