Job summary

Gentle Dental of Haverford in Haverford, PA, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team with treatments, patient care and documentation. A key requirement is X-Ray certification with prior dental assisting experience.

The role offers a part-time schedule (Tuesdays 9am–5pm, Wednesdays 8am–4pm) with benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, life and disability coverage, and a 401(k). Training and tech-forward facilities are provided.

Qualifications

• One year or more on-the-job experience with supporting documentation.
• X-Ray certification required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dental Assistant duties require annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR and infection control training.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply.
