New Castle Dental Associates in New Castle, Delaware is seeking a Lead Dental Assistant to support our clinical team with high-quality patient care in a collaborative, team-based setting. Prior dental assisting experience is required.

Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, taking X-rays, assisting dentists, educating patients on oral hygiene, and maintaining records. We offer competitive hourly pay ($22–$28) plus health, dental, vision, life and disability

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• 1 year on-the-job-experience.
• X-Ray certification - Required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dental assistants maintain OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training.

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient care: Welcome, educate, and comfort patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols and protect patient confidentiality.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling information.

Education

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
