Job summary

The Smilist Dental in Linwood, NJ is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team on a 30-hour workweek with paid time for 36 hours. This role requires at least 1 year of dental assisting experience and an active NJ x-ray license. RDA/CDA is a plus but not required.

You will prepare patients and chairside assist, maintain a clean, sterile operatory, and support doctors to deliver high-quality care. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for continuing education.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant - at least 1 year.
• Active NJ x-ray license is required.
• RDA/CDA is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while addressing concerns and promoting the doctor’s strengths.
• Maintain a clean, sterile environment; prepare patients for treatment; assist doctors to ensure quality care.
• Escort patients to and from the front desk.
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and monitor supply levels in each operatory.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of their doctor
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patient feels comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient quality dental treatment
• Escort patients to and from the front desk
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Position Details:

• Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 7am-7:30pm and rotating Friday/Saturday 7:30am-2pm
• Salary Range: $20.00-$28.00/hour (based on experience)
