Job summary

The Smilist Dental is seeking a reliable, friendly Dental Assistant to join our growing practice in Blackwood, NJ. Work 30 hours per week, with a schedule of two weekdays and one weekend day, and be paid for 36 hours. Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant – at least 1 year.
• Must have an active NJ x‑ray license
• RDA a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while addressing concerns and promoting the doctor’s good qualities.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist the doctors.
• Escort patients to and from the front desk.
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and manage supply levels in each operatory; reorder as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management

Key Responsibilities

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of their doctor
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patient feels comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors – thereby enabling them to provide efficient quality dental treatment
• Escort patients to and from the front desk
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Position Details

• Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 7am‑7:30pm and rotating Friday/Saturdays 7:30am‑2pm
• Salary Range: $22.00–$27.00/hour (based on licensure)
• Location: Blackwood, NJ
