Job summary

The Smilist Dental in Hoboken, NJ is seeking a reliable Dental Assistant to support doctors during procedures and maintain a clean, welcoming treatment area. You will prepare trays, manage supplies, and assist with patient flow from front desk to operatory.

Ideal candidates hold an active NJ x-ray license, bring experience with dental instruments and Dentrix, and work well in a team with strong communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Active NJ x-ray license required.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• Dentrix experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors during procedures and maintain a sterile, cheerful environment.
• Prepare tray setups and maintain supply levels in each operatory.
• Escort patients to and from the front desk.
• Meet and greet patients, ensuring a smooth transition to treatment areas.
• Support management with other duties as needed.

We are currently seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing practice and contribute to our mission of excellent dental care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of their doctor
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patient feels comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient quality dental treatment
• Escort patients to and from the front desk
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant
• Must have an active NJ x-ray license
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude

Position Details:

• Schedule:Full Time - some Saturday availability required
• Salary Range:$24.00-$28.00/hour
