Job summary

Alexander Wang seeks a Sr Technical Designer, Denim to ensure denim garments meet brand vision, fit standards, and quality from concept through production, mentoring junior designers and establishing denim tech standards.

You will collaborate with Design, Product Development, Production, and factories, driving consistency, quality, and efficiency while leveraging new technologies for denim innovation and agile response to seasonal calendars.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
7+ years of apparel technical design experience with denim.
Experience in luxury/contemporary product development and premium denim manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain comprehensive technical specifications for all new denim styles, establishing and enforcing consistency across silhouettes, fits, and wash treatments.
Lead technical design reviews and live fit sessions with Designers and Patternmakers, capturing detailed fit feedback and construction notes.
Generate, manage, and oversee detailed technical packages at all development stages—from initial design packages through production specifications.
Partner with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to identify root causes of fit, quality, construction, and manufacturing issues.
Evaluate vendor samples with a critical eye toward fit, construction quality, and workmanship at every development stage.
Collaborate with Patternmakers, Production teams, and overseas factories to resolve construction challenges and communicate technical specifications clearly.
