Job summary
Mamiye Brothers is seeking a passionate Denim Designer to lead the development of women’s denim collections from concept through production in New York. You will collaborate with product development, technical design, merchandising, sales, and overseas vendors to translate trends into premium denim offerings.
The role requires strong knowledge of denim fabrics, fits, washes, and finishes, plus proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM, and CAD tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- 4–7 years experience designing women’s denim for premium brands.
- Strong denim fabric, construction, patternmaking, and wash knowledge.
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Office.
- Experience with PLM and overseas manufacturing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- AI tools for design ideation and workflow optimization.
Responsibilities
- Design seasonal women’s denim collections from concept to production.
- Lead fit sessions and refine fit, comfort, and performance.
- Develop washes, dye techniques, distressing, laser, embroidery, finishes.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, and Production.
- Present concepts in design reviews and customer line reviews.
- Maintain organized design files and digital assets.
- Provide clear vendor feedback and manage calendar milestones.
