Job summary

Powder House Ski Shop in Alta, UT is seeking a Demo Shop & Retail Manager to oversee operations at our main Alta location. This leadership role manages staff, safety standards for demo setups, and day-to-day activities in rental and retail areas.

You’ll be the on-shift point person for customer questions, equipment concerns, and team support, with a four-day work week and 10-hour shifts. Prior ski rental or retail experience is preferred and strong leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Full-time availability required (4 days/week, 10-hour shifts including weekends and holidays).
• Prior experience in ski rentals, demos, or retail preferred.
• Strong understanding of binding liability or willingness to complete training.
• Ability to lead a team and make on-the-spot decisions.
• Reliable, organized, and customer-service oriented.
• Must have reliable transportation to Alta for canyon access.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support rental and retail staff during the day.
• Oversee all demo ski setups and ensure proper DIN settings and liability procedures.
• Lead on-site for liability, safety, or customer service concerns.
• Train new staff and uphold shop protocols and service standards.
• Assist with boot fittings, ski setups, and retail sales.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and inventory levels in the shop.
• Communicate with upper management about shop performance and staffing needs.

Compensation: TBD
Schedule: Full-Time (4 days/week, 10-hour shifts, 8:00am-6:00pm)
Seasonal Position: December through April

You'll be the go-to person on shift for customer concerns, equipment questions, and team support.
