The Demolition Laborer plays a vital role in supporting demolition and site preparation activities, working alongside operators to safely and efficiently execute the dismantling, clearing, and preparation of job sites. This position is responsible for preparing work areas, assisting with debris removal and material handling, supporting grade control, and operating hand and power tools in dynamic field environments. The Demolition Laborer contributes directly to safe, organized, and productive operations, ensuring crews are equipped and positioned for successful project execution.

TOTAL COMPENSATION

$21.11 to $34.90 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cleaning and preparing a job site, including the removal of debris, garbage, trees, etc.
  • Operating water truck as needed.
  • Loading and unloading building materials.
  • Operating a variety of tools and machines such as blowtorches, jackhammers, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment.
  • Caring for tools used on demolition sites and keeping them in safe and clean working order.
  • Safely operating equipment and vehicles as needed.
  • Understanding and carrying out instructions.
  • Maintaining records.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Checking primary email on a regular basis for any communication from the company, as this is the company’s primary mode of communication.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Dependability and reliability with a good attendance record and the willingness and ability to adapt to scheduling needs as required to accommodate company and project needs.
  • Extremely self‑motivated with the ability to take the lead on assignments as well as follow instructions and work within parameters of excellency established by leadership.
  • Good safety history and willingness to engage and contribute to ongoing safe work practices, including the use of PPE, with the ability to safely perform physical and manual work such as digging, shoveling, and operating power tools.
  • Top‑notch communication skills, including the ability to effectively, respectfully, and positively interact with supervisors, team members, and subcontractors.
  • Consistent access to a reliable personal email account.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time on various terrain, including slopes and uneven ground, and regularly push, pull, shovel, bend to pick up, and lift items 25 to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Outside work exposed to variant weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow) and muddy ground conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and varying conditions requiring consistent use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
