Job summary

Keswick Multicare Inc. seeks a Dementia Resource Manager for the Cognitive and Caregiver Resource Center in Baltimore, MD. This full-time role oversees daily operations, education delivery, and engagement with the community while ensuring program quality and safety.

The position requires a Bachelor's in gerontology or related field; CTRS/ADC certifications and dementia curriculum training are preferred. 3+ years with older adults and dementia/cognitive impairment are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, organize, and manage day-to-day operations of the Resource Center.
  • Manage budgetary spending and revenue related to the Resource Center.
  • Supervise ancillary staff and contracted facilitators.
  • Develop and deliver current, evidence-based education about AD/ADRD.
  • Coordinate with Volunteer Services to identify and supervise volunteers.

The Dementia Resource Manager in this role is responsible for the programs and services associated with Keswick's Cognitive and Caregiver Resource Center. The manager oversees daily operations, including service navigation, development, facilitation of dementia education, and engagement with the Keswick campus and the local community.

What is required for the Dementia Resource Manager position?

  • Bachelor's degree required in gerontology, aging services, or a closely related human services field
  • PREFER: Current certification as a CTRS or ADC
  • PREFER: Current certification(s) in dementia-related curriculum and training
  • PREFER: 3+ years of related work experience with older adults and/or service navigation
  • PREFER: 3+ years of related work experience with people with dementia/cognitive impairment

What will I do as a Dementia Resource Manager with Keswick?

  • Plan, direct, organize, and manage the day-to-day operations and programs of the Resource Center in response to facilitator needs, classroom preparation, technology needs, and reporting, including direct oversight of the space when utilized by other campus departments or community groups.
  • Manage budgetary spending and revenue directly related to the Resource Center in coordination with the overall community health goals.
  • Independently manage and make decisions to ensure the safety of participants/clients within the space and to maintain operational effectiveness as it impacts the entire organization’s function.
  • Develop and implement organization-wide policies and procedures related to the resource center and its operations, both onsite and offsite.
  • Direct and independent supervision of ancillary staff and contracted facilitators serving the cognitive and caregiver resource center and programs.
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer Services Manager to identify volunteers’/interns' skill sets to assist in the Resource Center and directly supervise their work as assigned.
  • Develop and deliver current, evidence-based education about AD/ADRD and cognitive well-being (in-person, virtually, and at off-site locations) in collaboration with the Director of Education and Engagement.
  • Deliver dementia training to informal and formal caregivers, including multi-care staff, in coordination with the community health education team. Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert for dementia to Keswick staff and campus departments.
  • Assess the needs and understanding of individuals with dementia and care partners during regular interactions and communications with clients.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to identify and develop an assortment of education, engagement, and referral networks for people living in the community with cognitive impairment and their care partners.
  • Network with other community agencies and serve as a representative of Keswick to promote the Resource Center to the public.
  • Maintain awareness of community resources and best practices for dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, care partner self-care, and support services.
