Job summary

Brookdale is seeking a dedicated caregiver to provide dementia care and support for residents in a community setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, meals, and engagement programs, while keeping detailed records and coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3–6 months related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia, particularly Alzheimer’s type.
• May need to possess current state certification and follow regulations to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides dementia care including ADL assistance, meaningful engagement, and person-centered service plans.
• Assists residents with daily living activities and supports independence.
• Records changes in residents' eating habits and health condition for supervisor review.
• Prepares meals following dementia-friendly menus and helps residents to eat and stay hydrated.
• Maintains residents' records daily and reports health or behavioral changes to the supervisor.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment and assists with housekeeping tasks.
