Job summary

Brookdale in Austin, TX is seeking a compassionate caregiver to deliver dementia care and assist residents with daily living activities in a person-centered plan. You will support meals, mobility, and engagement, documenting changes and communicating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 3–6 months of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia and ability to work with older adults living with dementia.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, families and associates.

Responsibilities

• Provides dementia care following a person-centered individual service plan.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living and helps with meals.
• Participates in team discussions and knows residents' Life Story, preferences and routines.
• Maintains thorough resident records and observes changes in health or behavior.
• Follows medication policies and ensures a clean, safe environment for residents.
