Job summary

Gloucester Charities Trust (GCT) is hiring two Care and Support Assistants for Guild House, a well-established residential home for older people. Each post is 2 x 30 hours, with base pay of £13.80 per hour, rising to £14.10 after medication training, plus £1.00 per hour at weekends.

You will provide high-quality personal care, assist with daily living activities, support independence, and maintain records in line with CQC requirements.

Qualifications

• Caring, kind and respectful approach to supporting older people.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability and flexibility.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not offered).
• Desirable: Care Certificate or NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care; experience with dementia.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents.
• Assist with daily living activities (dressing, bathing, mobility, meals).
• Encourage independence and participation in activities.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records per CQC and organisational requirements.
• Support residents living with dementia and other age-related conditions.
• Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and infection prevention.
