Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Branford, CT is seeking a Demask and Blast Operator for the 2nd shift to join our team. You will remove masking materials, perform water wash and internal flushing, and operate grit blasting equipment to prepare components for masking, ensuring surfaces are clean and ready for subsequent processing.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to read and write in English, and work eligibility in the United States.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write in English with basic comprehension.
• Good math skills for units, measurements and simple calculations.
• Attention to detail to ensure correct masking and cleaning.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to adjust equipment settings and operate tools.

Responsibilities

• Demask operations using fixtures, blocks, or hand tools to remove masking per work instructions.
• Carry out internal cleaning by flushing and water washing to remove masking, debris, and residue.
• Utilize brushes, sticks, and other tools to clean internal and external surfaces and crevices.
• Operate grit blasting equipment to clean parts and achieve uniform finishes.
• Adjust blasting machines and grit flow to meet specifications per work instructions.
• Inspect parts before and after processing to ensure cleaning results.
• Organize demasked cups and bottoms for masking or next operation.
• Complete documentation including routers, logs, and internal records accurately.
