Job summary

Ascent Aerospace is seeking a Sand Blast Operator & General Laborer for the 2nd shift in Lake Orion, MI. The role involves preparing, cleaning, and finishing fabricated parts and operating sandblasting equipment to remove coatings, rust, and contaminants in a safe, quality-driven environment.

You will load and move materials, inspect parts, and assist fabrication and production teams while adhering to OSHA and company safety policies. Export control compliance requires US Persons.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating sandblasting or abrasive blasting equipment.
• Ability to read work orders and follow detailed instructions.
• Knowledge of shop safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare aerospace components.
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the fabrication shop.
• Prepare parts for welding, machining, painting, or assembly.
• Inspect parts before and after blasting for quality and defects.
• Maintain blasting equipment and perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Follow aerospace specifications, work instructions, and quality procedures.
