Position: Demand Planner

On behalf of one of our clients, East 57th Street Partners’ Direct Hire Practice is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Demand Planner to join their team. This role is critical in driving accurate demand forecasts and collaborating cross-functionally with sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance to optimize inventory levels, improve service levels, and support strategic business planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and business intelligence.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to incorporate promotional plans, new product launches, and market shifts into forecast models.
  • Lead the monthly S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process, ensuring alignment between demand and supply.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and bias, identify root causes of forecast errors, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage SKU-level forecasts and recommend adjustments to inventory and procurement teams.
  • Utilize demand planning software and tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle Demantra, Excel) to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Communicate forecast insights to senior leadership and provide scenario planning support for key business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, or forecasting.
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced with demand planning systems or ERP platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience in S&OP processes is a plus.
  • APICS/IBF certification is a plus.
