Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Demand Planner for SCM-Procurement / Supply Chain Logistics. The role involves collaborating with project managers and engineers to forecast demand and manage SAP MRP processes across multiple U.S. sites, including Sacramento.

You will analyze data, optimize inventory turnover, and support end‑to‑end planning with cross-functional teams. A strong background in SAP MRP and Excel is required to drive efficient materials planning and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or combination of education and Siemens-relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in SCM and Demand/Materials Planning.
  • Proficient in SAP ERP Material Planning modules (MD61/MD62/MD63, MD04, MMBE).
  • Strong Excel skills for forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience in engineer‑to‑order environment with multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Material Managers, and Engineering to identify and mitigate impact on maintenance schedules.
  • Enter forecasted demand in SAP MRP and manage planning parameters.
  • Develop a streamlined materials planning strategy and monitor end‑to‑end processes for plan execution.
  • Address gaps and material shortages with cross‑functional teams.
  • Track metrics, generate reports and presentations to monitor performance and transparency.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Material Managers, and Engineering to identify unreleased, obsolete, or updated parts; evaluate impact on maintenance schedules and develop mitigation plans.
  • Apply the SAP MRP (Planning) module to enter forecasted demand, manage planning parameters, and oversee the end-to-end planning process.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to develop a streamlined, low‑risk materials planning strategy for assigned business segments; monitor end‑to‑end processes to ensure plan execution and secure material availability while improving inventory turnover.
  • Collaborate with engineering, MRP controllers, order management, material managers, and strategic procurement to address gaps and material shortages.
  • Track relevant metrics and generate reports, charts, and presentations to monitor end‑to‑end performance and promote transparency.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and achieve continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commercial, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred. In lieu of a degree, a combination of education and Siemens-relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in SCM and Demand/Materials Planning.
  • Proficient in SAP ERP Material Planning modules, including but not limited to:
    • MD61, MD62, and MD63 transactions.
    • MD04 navigation in complex subcontracting with multi‑BOM, multi‑MRP areas, and management of exception messages.
    • Material master settings affecting MRP flow (e.g., Safety Stock, Special Procurement, Procurement Type, MRP Type, Lot size, Min/Max lot size, rounding).
    • Review and interpretation of stock types across multiple plants (MMBE, Batch, Special Stock).
  • Strong analytical ability with experience interpreting large datasets; proficient in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data visualization) to support forecasting and reporting.
  • Proven track record solving SAP MRP and process-related challenges using data-driven analysis, problem-solving, and process improvements.
  • Experience in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment with multiple projects, competing priorities, and strict deadlines.
