Siemens is looking for a Production/Demand Planner Supervisor for its Grand Prairie, Texas manufacturing facility. The facility produces high‑quality, make‑to‑order power distribution equipment for the western United States market. The role balances supply and demand and coordinates functions within the plant to ensure timely, cost‑effective completion of customer orders while meeting financial targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coach, and guide a team of 3+ demand/production planners.
- Recruit, train, and manage performance.
- Oversee tactical, operational responsibilities and process improvements within the planning team.
- Support the coordination and execution of customer and engineering changes.
- Develop, implement, and adjust medium and long‑term project plans and production schedules to meet top‑line business metrics.
- Coordinate and balance supply and demand across three production lines.
- Evaluate work center capacity and material supply.
- Work closely with purchasing, production and customer service teams to plan and prioritize operations to fulfill customer requirements on time and ensure maximum performance, considering available resources to meet financial goals.
- Drive and coordinate daily production meetings.
- Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Analyze large amounts of data to develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Research and analyze current and future demand to support the development of forecasts when needed.
- Review, update and/or fix SAP material master or configurations.
- Responsible for meeting delivery reliability, schedule adherence, and cost‑saving/productivity initiatives for the site.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in a fast‑paced business environment.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in production planning, scheduling, order management, or supply chain roles, including at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong proficiency with SAP ERP/MRP system.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
- APICS CSCP and/or CPIM certification.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma certifications.
