Job summary

Interconnect Solutions Company is seeking a Demand Planner in Fountain Valley, CA. You will turn customer demand into production requirements, schedule orders, and release work orders to the shop floor, collaborating across Accounts, Buyers, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Production to keep plans moving.

You will use MRP/ERP systems and planning tools to manage schedules, monitor status, and adjust for changes in BOMs, quantities, and delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in production planning or similar planning role.
• Experience with MRP and ERP systems to plan and manage production and material requirements.
• Experience creating or managing production schedules and work orders.
• Strong understanding of how demand, material availability, capacity, and scheduling constraints affect outcomes.
• Intermediate Excel skills and comfort with planning data/tools.
• Strong communication across multiple departments.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Willingness to spend time on the production floor and learn the process.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own production planning and scheduling for assigned customers and/or product lines, balancing requirements, material availability, and priorities.
• Translate orders into production schedules and update as requirements change.
• Create and maintain component demand in the MRP/ERP system based on requirements and plans.
• Release production work orders and monitor progress to keep production on schedule.
• Collaborate with Buyers to identify and manage material constraints that could impact schedules.
• Coordinate with Production Leads, Quality, Warehouse, and other teams to address plan status and issues.
• Respond to BOM, routing, ECNs, and engineering changes affecting the plan.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality when changes require adjustments to the plan.
• Keep Account Managers informed of status, changes, and potential delivery issues.
• Utilize M3, LeanDNA, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams to manage schedules and track demand.
• Identify scheduling gaps and material shortages early and address them with the needed teams.
• Look for opportunities to improve planning processes and cross‑department coordination.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of business needs.

Job Overview

As a Demand Planner at ISC, you'll turn customer demand into production and component requirements that keep work moving from order through shipment. You'll schedule orders, manage changing priorities and constraints, create component demand in our planning systems, and release work orders to the production floor. Your planning decisions directly impact production flow, on-time delivery, and customer commitments.

You'll work closely with Account Managers, Buyers, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Production to keep plans moving forward. This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where customer requirements, engineering changes, BOMs, and component needs can change quickly. Success requires strong planning skills, clear communication, and a willingness to work directly with the people building our products.

What You'll Do:

• Own production planning and scheduling for assigned customers and/or product lines, balancing customer requirements, material availability, production needs, and changing priorities.
• Translate new customer orders and demand into production schedules and continuously update schedules as requirements and constraints change.
• Create and maintain component demand in the MRP/ERP system based on customer requirements, production plans, and material needs.
• Release production work orders to the shop floor and monitor progress to help keep production on schedule.
• Work closely with Buyers to identify and manage material constraints that could impact production schedules or customer delivery.
• Follow up with Production Leads, Quality, Warehouse, and other teams to understand work order status and address issues affecting the plan.
• Respond to BOM, routing, engineering change, rework, RMA, and other product or process changes that affect production plans.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality when engineering changes, inspections, rework, or other issues require adjustments to the production plan.
• Keep Account Managers informed of production status, schedule changes, and potential issues that may affect customer deliveries.
• Use M3, LeanDNA , Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, and other planning tools to manage schedules, track demand, and monitor production status.
• Identify potential scheduling gaps, material shortages, and other risks early and work with the appropriate teams to address them.
• Look for opportunities to improve planning processes, communication, and coordination across the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of business needs.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, demand planning, materials planning, or a similar planning role
• Experience working with MRP and ERP systems to plan, schedule, or manage production and material requirements
• Experience creating or managing production schedules, work orders, material requirements, or similar manufacturing plans
• Strong understanding of how customer demand, material availability, production capacity, and scheduling constraints affect one another
• Intermediate Excel skills and comfort working with planning data and tools
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where priorities and requirements can change quickly
• Willingness to spend time on the production floor, communicate directly with Production teams, and learn the manufacturing process
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high‑reliability manufacturing environments.
• Experience working in a high‑mix, low‑volume production environment.
• Experience with M3, LeanDNA , or similar ERP and planning tools.
• Experience working with BOMs, routings, ECNs, engineering changes, or manufacturing documentation.
• Experience supporting cable assembly, wire harness, electronics, electromechanical, or similar manufacturing environments.

Compensation Range:

$70,000 - $90,000/yr + bonus
