Job summary

INTERCONNECT SOLUTIONS COMPANY LLC in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking a Kitting Supervisor to lead daily kitting and material fulfillment for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will supervise kitting personnel, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery of correct materials with proper documentation.

You will collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams to optimize material flow, improve accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily kitting operations to ensure safety, efficiency and accuracy.
• Prioritize daily kitting activities based on production schedules and priorities.
• Create and optimize standard operating procedures for kitting and warehouse tasks.
• Develop processes to automate warehouse stocking, kitting, and inventory management.
• Oversee accurate picking, verification, assembly, and staging of production kits.
• Ensure correct materials, quantities and documentation are provided to production on time.
• Coordinate with Planning and Manufacturing to adjust priorities and meet schedules.
• Provide daily leadership, coaching and training to kitting staff.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate shortages or discrepancies.
• Ensure ERP/MRP/WMS transactions are accurate.
• Maintain material traceability including barcode scanning and lot/serial tracking.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to resolve material issues.
• Track KPIs such as inventory accuracy, kit completion and on-time delivery.
• Lead continuous improvement using Lean, 5S and root-cause analysis.
• Support ERP/WMS implementations and system improvements.
• Maintain organized, clean, safe kitting and staging areas.
• Promote safety, quality and accountability across the team.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Job Overview

The Kitting Supervisor leads and coordinates daily kitting and material fulfillment operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient material flow in support of manufacturing production schedules. This hands-on leader oversees kitting personnel, inventory control activities, material staging, and warehouse-related transactions while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, accountability, and operational performance.

Working within a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment producing wire harnesses, cable assemblies, overmolded products, and electromechanical assemblies, the Kitting Supervisor ensures production teams receive the correct materials, quantities, revisions, and documentation required to maintain schedule attainment and prevent downtime. The role partners closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to create standard operating processes, optimize material flow, improve inventory accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and supervise daily kitting operations, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and accurately in accordance with company procedures and production requirements.
• Assign and prioritize daily kitting activities based on production schedules, customer requirements, and operational priorities.
• Create and optimize standard operating procedures.
• Develop processes to automate warehouse stocking, kitting, and inventory material management.
• Oversee the accurate picking, verification, assembly, and staging of production kits.
• Ensure production teams receive the correct materials, quantities, revisions, and documentation within required timelines.
• Coordinate closely with Production Planning and Manufacturing teams to adjust priorities and support schedule attainment.
• Provide daily leadership, coaching, training, and support to kitting personnel while fostering accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate shortages, discrepancies, damaged inventory, and transaction errors.
• Ensure accurate ERP, MRP, and WMS transactions involving material movement, issuing, transfers, adjustments, and inventory control activities.
• Serve as the primary operational resource for warehouse and kitting processes within ERP, MRP, and WMS systems.
• Develop and maintain material traceability processes including barcode scanning, labeling, lot control, and serial number tracking.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Production, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to resolve material-related issues affecting production.
• Track and drive key performance indicators including inventory accuracy, kitting productivity, kit completion rates, material shortages, and on-time kit delivery.
• Identify and implement improvements to workflow, warehouse organization, material movement, and system utilization.
• Lead continuous improvement activities utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
• Support ERP/WMS system implementations, upgrades, testing, user training, and process improvements.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe kitting and staging areas.
• Promote and enforce all safety, quality, inventory control, and material handling requirements.
• Foster an engaging work environment where employees understand how their contributions support production efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, materials management, kitting, manufacturing support, or supply chain operations.
• Leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience, including coaching and developing employees.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, MRP, or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Strong understanding of inventory management, material control, cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and lot traceability.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations within a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), work orders, engineering drawings, wire lists, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience implementing and utilizing barcode scanners, inventory tracking systems, and warehouse technology.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience in cable assemblies, wire harness manufacturing, electronics assembly, aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading warehouse, inventory control, or kitting teams.
• Experience supporting ERP/WMS implementations, upgrades, or process optimization projects.
• Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, workflows, and inventory control processes.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with KPI development, metrics reporting, dashboard management, and operational data analysis.
• Knowledge of FIFO, Kanban, point-of-use inventory, min/max planning, lot traceability, and serial number control.
• Experience supporting production planning, demand planning, or material requirements planning activities.
• Associate's degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
• Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese).

PHYSICAL DEMAND AND SAFETY

• Be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted. Beyond this will require the buddy system or a lifting device.

Compensation Range:

$28.00/hour ($58,240 annually)
