Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within manufacturing, with nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Experience with a formal QMS and applying customer-specific requirements in manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving using structured RCA methods (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Experience in regulated industries (aerospace, automotive, medical, etc.).
• Ability to balance quality with production/delivery by risk assessment and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong communication and teamwork across technical and customer-facing environments.

Job Overview

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction across manufacturing operations for interconnect solutions. This role will support the Quality Management System (QMS), drive root cause analysis, and lead corrective actions while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain. This position is highly customer-facing and will play a key role supporting strategic customers, ensuring responsiveness to quality issues, managing deviations, and maintaining strong relationships with customer quality teams.

What You'll Do:

Customer & Cross-Functional Quality Support

• Serve as the primary interface with customer quality teams, addressing deviations, source inspections, and quality concerns
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to lead quality-related activities and issue resolution
• Drive timely responses to customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

Quality Systems & Compliance

• Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO, AS9100, FAA, FDA, or other regulated standards
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure adherence to customer requirements
• Ensure proper implementation of customer flow-down requirements

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone methodologies
• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure effectiveness
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes

Manufacturing Quality & Operations Support

• Evaluate production issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints to improve product performance
• Support MRB activities and disposition processes
• Use ERP and internal systems to track quality metrics and drive data-based decisions

New Product & Process Support

• Support APQP activities and product introductions as needed
• Ensure quality requirements are defined and met throughout the product lifecycle

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience supporting production quality, nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Experience working with a formal Quality Management System (QMS) and applying quality standards, procedures, and customer-specific requirements in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply structured root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies, including 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone analysis
• Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical, food, or industrial manufacturing)
• Ability to balance quality requirements with production and delivery objectives by assessing risk, exercising sound judgment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve practical, compliant solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams, manufacturing operations, and customer-facing environments.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience with AS9100 and/or AS9102 standards.
• Experience supporting customer audits, source inspections, or first article inspections (FAIs).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Experience using ERP systems for quality tracking and reporting.
• Experience with structured root cause and corrective action methodologies, including 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone analysis.
• Experience with APQP or other structured new product quality planning processes.

Compensation Range:

$98,000 - $105,000/year + bonus
