Job summary

Applied Control is seeking a DeltaV Systems Engineer to provide on-site technical support and design control systems for client facilities. You will implement DeltaV logic, configure graphics, and test designs while developing documentation such as FRS and System Design Specifications.

Ideal candidates have DeltaV experience, Batch/SIS/MES knowledge, and strong communication skills; occasional travel to client sites within a multi-state territory is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry working experience.
• Experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS systems required.
• Experience with Emerson DeltaV Batch / SIS / MES required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Server operating systems.
• Experience with documentation and functional specifications for DeltaV process control system projects in the Life Sciences Industry.
• Troubleshoot problems in a logical and timely fashion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of automation and distributed control systems including instrumentation, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Proficiency in interpreting P&ID, electrical schematics, network architectures, and process control descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site DeltaV Control Systems Engineer for a customer.
• Develop and design Emerson DeltaV control systems including implementing control logic, configuring process graphics, and support reviews to demonstrate solutions meet requirements.
• Collaborate with customer to produce control system documentation including FRS and System Design Specifications.
• Implement continuous and batch designs into the DeltaV control system.
• Conduct internal and customer-witnessed control system factory/site acceptance testing.
• Develop and deploy process simulation.
• Perform Operator and Maintenance training.
• Perform process control equipment installation and startup.
• Perform system upgrades and preventative maintenance activities.
• Explore new opportunities with customers for upgrades/expansion and services.
• Collaborate with sales teams as a product or service technical expert for customers.
• Deliver quality solutions and services to our customers across industries.
• Share Emergency Call responsibilities with Projects and Services team.
• Travel periodically to other customer facilities within the multi-state territory.
• Proactively learn to apply new automation products regularly.
• Adhere to company and customer safety practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems administration.
