Job summary
Lithium Americas Corp. seeks an Automation Control Specialist to join the maintenance team at the Thacker Pass site. You will program, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the DeltaV DCS and related automation systems to maximize uptime and safety.
This role requires strong collaboration with electricians, instrumentation techs, and operators. You will develop control strategies, tune loops, and support commissioning and startup activities, while ensuring cyber security and safety standards are
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years programming, configuring, and maintaining DCS/PLC systems.
- Experience with Emerson DeltaV strongly preferred; mining/industrial env experience.
- Knowledge of instrumentation (pressure, temp, level, flow).
- Familiarity with OSIsoft PI or similar data historians.
Responsibilities
- Program, configure, maintain DeltaV DCS and automation systems.
- Develop and maintain HMI graphics and control logic.
- Troubleshoot control system issues and tune loops for reliability.
- Support operations with automation-related issues and data analysis.
- Maintain system backups, licensing, and SIS/MOC considerations.
