Job summary

Lithium Americas is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance Team at Thacker Pass, NV. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of electrical power, control, and instrumentation systems to support production and minimize downtime.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work days, nights, and weekends with proper PPE and safety protocols. Join us in the clean energy mission and safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician or equivalent with hands-on experience.
• 3–5 years electrical and instrumentation experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, with PPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical power, control, and instrumentation systems to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and repair motors, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance per CMMS.
• Read electrical schematics and one-line diagrams to plan work.
• Support control system upgrades and automation improvements.
• Perform lockout/tagout and ensure zero-energy states.
• Document actions in maintenance systems and coordinate with teams.
