Job summary

Dell Technologies Services invites undergraduates in Round Rock, TX or Hopkinton, MA to join as an Engineering Intern. You will learn about computing architectures, collaborate with product technologists, serviceability engineers, and software engineers, and contribute to root-cause analysis and informed decision making.

We seek students enrolled in a BS program in CE, EE, ESTec, or CS, on track to graduate in 2027/2028, with a foundation in architecture, embedded systems, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited B.S. program in CE, EE, ESTec or CS with upper-level engineering coursework.
• On track to graduate during December 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Able to write and decipher requirements, design specs, test plans, and documentation.
• Basic understanding of x86 and ARM architectures.
• Basic understanding of microprocessors, digital logic, and embedded systems design.
• Basic understanding of software operating systems including Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes and resolve service event drivers within Dell Technologies Services teams.
• Tackle ambiguous, complex problems with evaluation of variables and cost-benefit analyses.
• Integrate trends, data, and information into plans, deliverables, and recommendations.
• Anticipate operational, program, and implementation issues; develop preventative measures.
• Adapt projects based on customer or business partner feedback.

What you'll achieve

As an Engineering Intern at Dell, you will learn more about the architecture and definition of computing devices and solutions and will partner with product technologists, serviceability engineers, product test engineers, product quality engineers, industrial designers, service technicians, and software engineers.

You will:

• Work within Dell Technologies Services teams for root cause identification and resolution of service event drivers
• Work on ambiguous and complex problems requiring evaluation of intangible variables as well as predictive and cost benefit analysis, opportunity/risk analysis
• Integrate trends, data and information into plans, deliverables, and recommendations
• Anticipate operational, program, implementation issues, and develops preventative measures
• Adapt projects, programs or methods based on customer or business partner feedback

Essential Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering Technology or Computer Sciences. Coursework must include a substantial number of upper-level engineering courses. On track to graduate during December 2027 or Spring 2028
• Able to write and decipher requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, and documentation
• Possess basic understanding of computer architectures like x86 and ARM
• Possess basic understanding of Microprocessor, digital logic design, and embedded systems design
• Possess basic understanding of software operating systems including Microsoft based products

Desirable Requirements

• Must be able to effectively interface with others inside and outside the Engineering function and understand working in a team environment
• Able to organize and manage multiple projects, set priorities, and work independently under tight timelines

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this position is $27.10 - $31.80 hourly.
