Job summary

ClearBridge Technology Group is seeking a Dell PowerEdge Server Engineer in Atlanta, GA for a 1-year contract. The role is 100% onsite, supporting Dell PowerEdge server operations and data center activities.

Responsibilities include monitoring the data center, coordinating maintenance, BIOS management, and coordinating with Dell for FSE scheduling. Required are Dell PowerEdge experience, iDRAC, and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu). Training may be provided; background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work onsite daily.
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Experience with Dell PowerEdge servers.
• Experience working in a large server environment.
• Experience with iDRAC.
• Experience with Linux (RHEL and Ubuntu).
• Dell XE Server training may be required during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Support day to day data center activities.
• Proactively monitor the data center and alert customers to amber lights or issues.
• Escort dispatched field engineers when applicable.
• LOIS parts management and documentation upkeep.
• Coordinate with customer for maintenance activities (power, cooling, containment).
• BIOS lifecycle management and user administration.
• Triage with Dell support to schedule FSE break/fix activities.

Dell PowerEdge Server Engineer

Our client, located in Atlanta, GA, is currently in need of a Dell PowerEdge Server Engineer for a 1 year contract. The consultant will work 100% onsite in support of Dell PowerEdge server operations.

Responsibilities:

• Support day to day data center activities
• Proactively walk the data center through the day, watching/alerting customer of amber lights, “hot” doors etc.
• Escort dispatched field engineers (when applicable)
• LOIS parts management (will be trained once onsite)
• Maintain documentation of the environment: serial numbers, elevations, runbooks, etc.
• Coordinate with customer for any maintenance activities: power maintenance, cooling maintenance, containment wall maintenance, etc.
• Performs BIOS lifecycle management, adding users, patching
• Triage with Dell support for scheduling FSE break/fix activities

Required Skills:

• Ability to work onsite daily
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Experience with Dell PowerEdge servers
• Experience working in a large server environment
• Experience with iDRAC
• Experience with RHEL and Ubuntu OS

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Dell PowerEdge XE servers

Training: After a candidate is selected, they will be required to complete the Dell XE Server training via Dell TechDirect if they have not yet worked with it in a production environment. The plan is for the 50 hours of training to be completed during the background?check period, and this must be finished before the project’s start date.
