Delivery Truck Driver - Penn Manor School District - Position Description

Report to: Director of Buildings & Grounds
Location: District Wide
Status: 260 Days Hourly
Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, 40 hours per week
Summary
Ensure fast and efficient delivery of supplies, equipment, and mail to variousdestinations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Pick up and distribute mail, reports, money bags, checks, parcels, documents and materials. Ability to follow routes in a timely manner.
- Pick up from the Post Office and Sort mail, parcels, documents and other materials to ensure accurate distribution.
- Make bank deposits as directed. Pick up and sign for cafeteria Deposits.
- Deliver food service supplies as scheduled. Distribute food between schools as necessary.
- Provide delivery services for various other District needs including equipment, furniture, and custodial supplies.
- Assemble and/or move furniture/equipment as required.
- Load, unload, and secure all items on the delivery truck in a safe and orderly manner.
- Assist other support personnel.
- Provide snow removal service as directed by the High School Head Custodian or the Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience driving vans and/or trucks up to 24,000 pounds
- Knowledge and understanding of operation and maintenance of delivery vehicles
- Valid PA Driver’s license and /or access to independent transportation
- Pre-employment requirements as designated by the PA School Code
Physical Requirements and Sensory Abilities
- Ability to reach above and below the waist, bend, twist, kneel, stoop, climb, and crawl
- Ability to stand, walk, or move throughout the workday (including standing up to 3 hours, walking up to 1 hour, or sitting up to 1 hour at a time)
- Ability to drive up to eighty percent (80%) of the workday
- Ability to use fingers to pick, feel, and grasp objects, and use both hands for repetitive motion
- Ability to lift and/or carry supplies weighing up to 75 lbs
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 125 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work in fluctuating inside and outside environmental conditions, including: Extreme cold (32°F or less) and extreme heat (90°F or more)
- Exposure to physical hazards, including conditions that may affect the respiratory system or skin
- Visual acuity and auditory acuity
