Job summary

HD Supply is seeking a delivery assistant to support drivers with customer orders, including loading and off-loading, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. The role does not involve operating company or rental vehicles.

Responsibilities include coordinating with drivers, inspecting deliveries for accuracy and damage, and providing courteous service to customers during handoffs. Requires HS diploma or GED and 0–2 years in the area.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of warehouse procedures, requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, cargo securement requirements, and delivery documents.
• 1+ years of experience operating material handling equipment.
• Prior delivery assistant experience in a similar industry.

Responsibilities

• Works with delivery drivers to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of customer orders.
• Inspects deliveries prior to load to ensure orders are accurate and undamaged.
• Assists with loading/unloading merchandise using material handling equipment when needed.
• Makes customer calls before and during delivery.
• Interages with customers regarding orders, providing proof of delivery and resolving basic issues.
• Relays escalated customer concerns to distribution center leadership.
• Provides exceptional customer service by being polite and professional during deliveries.
• Performs general warehouse duties as needed.
