Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated driver to ensure safe operation of the assigned vehicle and responsible loading/unloading. You will perform daily inspections, maintain clean and organized vehicle spaces, and report any issues to supervisors.

The role supports thrift-store delivery workflows and work-therapy program initiatives within the Adult Rehabilitation Centers. Ideal candidates communicate well, can lift up to 100 lbs, and are able to use GPS-enabled devices and truck inspection

Qualifications

• Must have effective communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
• Must pass a DOT Physical.
• Medical card may be required depending on city/state.
• Must be able to operate an Ipad with GPS and truck inspection app.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for security and safe operation of the vehicle and equipment.
• Perform daily walk-around inspection; report problems to supervisor.
• Keep truck cab and box clean; remove personal items daily.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Maintain records: delivery manifests, trip logs, etc.
• Load/unload truck; assist others as requested.
• Avoid damage to cargo and vehicle; maximize space utilization.
• Assist Thrift Store personnel with item deliveries and placement.
• Instruct and supervise Truck Helper.
• Support work therapy program by modeling professional conduct and supervision.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Administrator.
