Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking motivated individuals for local pickup and delivery work in the Salvation Army program. Drivers must follow daily routing directions, load and unload donations safely, and interact positively with customers.

The role includes training truck helpers and maintaining a clean driving record. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and strong time management and communication skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow daily routing directions and avoid off-route deviations unless directed by supervisor.
• Ensure routes are completed within the approved work schedule and 100% daily completion.
• Safely load and unload the assigned truck and assist others as needed.
• Handle donated material with proper safety procedures and PPE.
• Train and supervise truck helper, mindful of rehabilitation program context.
• Complete pre- and post-checks; report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Maintain courteous customer service and report donor issues to dispatch.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and state/local laws, attend safety meetings.
