Job description

The Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This position will also collect money on C.O.D. deliveries and pick up customer returns.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
2. Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
3. Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and complete daily vehicle inspections before operating.
4. Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and monies collected at all times.
5. Pick up customer returns (e.g., new, warranty, cores) and fill out driver return slips.
6. Communicate any problems or special needs from customers to store management.
7. Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage immediately to the store manager.
8. Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the vehicle is locked and secured at the end of each day.
9. Clock in/out according to company policy.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned, including customer service, sweeping, stocking, merchandising, errands, core returns, and stock order management.
11. Assist customers, serve as a cashier, and help with merchandising tasks as needed, especially during busy times.
12. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

Required:

• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Driving record must meet the standards set in the company's 14/18-point record system.
• Possess a valid state driver's license and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
• Familiarity with automotive parts.
• Ability to operate other light store equipment.
• Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.
