Job summary

Performance Food Group (New) is seeking a skilled Dispatch Coordinator to organize scheduling and routing for delivery operations. You will communicate with truck drivers via computers, phones, or radios, assign drivers to trucks, and ensure on-time departures and arrivals.

You will answer driver questions, help avoid delays, and interact with customers, vendors and colleagues professionally to resolve queries promptly. Prior dispatch/routing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years dispatch/routing and commercial driver experience or related area

Responsibilities

• Routers keep track of the progress drivers make along their route by using available technology.
• Check drivers in and out of terminals and transfer the trip records into a companys files.
• Communicate with drivers on a daily basis, but must handle any requests and complaints from customers.
• Calculate miles for all trucks.
• Determine travel and route times so that delivery costs can be accurately determined.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
