Job summary

Performance Foodservice seeks a dispatcher to coordinate delivery scheduling and dispatch operations. You will communicate with drivers via computers, phones or radios, assign trucks, and ensure timely departures and arrivals.

You will support customers, vendors, and coworkers with professional, accurate responses. The role requires 1-2 years in dispatch or related area, with high school diploma or equivalent, and involves daily driver coordination on a 3rd shift roster.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 1-2 years dispatch and commercial driver experience or related area

Responsibilities

• Dispatchers keep track of drivers' progress along routes using available technology.
• Check drivers in and out of terminals and transfer trip records into company files.
• Communicate with drivers daily and handle requests and complaints from customers.
• Calculate miles for all trucks.
• Determine travel and route times so delivery costs can be determined.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
