Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking hands-on operators to join our packaging production team. The role includes performing quality audits, verifying job completion, and understanding job sheets to ensure cartons meet specifications.

You will learn to set up and monitor Make-ready equipment, maintain materials, and complete required reports. Candidates should have basic measurement skills, ability to learn testing devices, mechanical aptitude, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to use and read basic measurement devices (calculator, tape measure, ruler)
• Able to learn to operate testing devices (Chatillon, E J Caddy, Mettler PM 480, Fluke IR Thermometer)
• Pallet jack certification is a plus
• General mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform quality checks on cartons being processed

Responsibilities

• Perform and document quality audits and verify job completion.
• Understand job sheets and check job specifications to carton.
• Learn to Make-ready machines and monitor carton quality.
• Maintain materials for production and complete necessary reports.
• Keep housekeeping up to standards and perform line clearance.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by the department manager.

This role can include Feeder Packer, Graphic Utility, Sheeter Assistant, Delivery Operator, and/or Aerator.

The Opportunity:

Perform and document quality audits, verify job completion, understand job sheet. Check job specifications to carton, learn to Make-ready machine, monitor carton quality, maintain materials for production, complete necessary reports (forms), maintain housekeeping to standards set by management, complete line clearance and additional job duties as assigned by department manager.

Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.

Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, ear plugs, Appropriate Gloves, Safety Shoes, Hair and Beard net if applicable, Bump Caps if applicable and Level 7 Sleeves if Applicable
