Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Missouri is seeking candidate(s) for roles within packaging operations, including feeder packing, graphic utility, and related positions. You will perform quality audits, verify job completion, and monitor carton quality while following safety and SQF guidelines.

The role requires basic measurement and testing device familiarity, general mechanical aptitude, and readiness to learn. Training and benefits accompany a stable manufacturing career.

Qualifications

• Ability to use basic measurement devices (calculator, tape measure).
• Ability to learn to operate testing devices (Chatillon, Mettler PM 480, Fluke).
• Pallet jack certification is a plus.
• General mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document quality audits and verify job completion.
• Understand job sheets, check specifications to carton, and monitor carton quality.
• Complete necessary reports and maintain housekeeping to standards.
• Assist with line clearance and other duties as assigned by supervision.

This role can include Feeder Packer, Graphic Utility, Sheeter Assistant, Delivery Operator, and/or Aerator.

The Opportunity

Perform and document quality audits, verify job completion, understand job sheet. Check job specifications to carton, learn to Make-ready machine, monitor carton quality, maintain materials for production, complete necessary reports (forms), maintain housekeeping to standards set by management, complete line clearance and additional job duties as assigned by department manager.

Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.

Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, ear plugs, Appropriate Gloves, Safety Shoes, Hair and Beard net if applicable, Bump Caps if applicable and Level 7 Sleeves if Applicable

What You Need To Succeed

• Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and rule
• Able to learn to operate testing devices (i.e. Chatillon, E J Caddy, Mettler PM 480, Fluke IR Thermometer
• Pallet jack certification is a plus
• General mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform quality checks on cartons being processed.
